We are now introducing a unique design of a small cabin with 2 floors, totaling 50 m² with multiple possibilities. It will be a cost-effective solution that provides plenty of space and bedrooms, or alternatively an office upstairs with a beautiful view. Experience a whole new world, live life, and find yourself together with other cabin owners from Norway who form the community we have established in paradise. Only Norwegians are in this area, apart from the few local and hospitable residents about 1–3 km beyond our property.
Near your cabin, after just a 20-minute walk, you will have access to our shared Lago Azul “the blue lagoon,” a freshwater lake 1–2 km in diameter formed by an underground spring rising from the ground. You won’t find cleaner or more mineral-rich water on the planet, and the lake is perfect for fishing and swimming, with water temperatures of 25–27°C.
Pink dolphins also swim in the river and are often seen when boating to and from the area. These beautiful creatures are a result of the river containing high levels of tannins (the same substance that gives red wine its color), which makes the dolphins pink. Alligators do not like to turn pink, so they stay away from the Rio Arapiuns river, as do anacondas.
All of this is available to you for a fraction of what such a cabin would cost in Norway, and in addition, it is built with quality materials from beautiful, legal hardwoods from the Amazon that will withstand the test of time for at least 50 years.
Only a 1.5-hour boat ride from the nearest town.
Alter do Chao is just a short boat ride away, so the journey between full civilization and complete peace and quiet is very short. The nearest village, Vila do Brazil, is only 10 minutes by boat.
With a river boat costing only 30 reais (about 70 Norwegian kroner), you can also travel to Santarem, the big city with 300,000 inhabitants, to buy supplies. The trip takes 4 hours. Bring your hammock and rest while traveling with the locals along the banks of the Rio Arapiuns river to and from the area for a very low cost, and take back with you whatever you need or want.
All you need to do here is wave a white flag or use your arms when you want the boat to dock, or point when you want the boat to land. The boat passes our area several times a week. Alternatively, you can arrange pickup days and times with our transport partners. If several people share the transport cost, it becomes very affordable per person.

Be amazed by nature’s mightiest trees in the primary rainforest—rainforest that has never been touched by humans. The largest trees have a circumference of 50 meters. You can see one of these trees in our teaser video, and yes, we filmed it with a drone for the first time in history!
Perfect fishing
Bad fishing is now a thing of the past—you are guaranteed to catch fish in both the lagoon and the Rio Arapiuns river as long as you know how. With a local guide, you will catch many exciting exotic fish. Larger fish than you can imagine swim in the river, and you will be surprised at how amusing they look!
By buying a cabin, you help protect the rainforest
We are in regular contact with groups that fight for the protection of the rainforest and support them. At the same time, our goal is to plant up to 6,000 endangered and rare Amazon trees in the coming years on the savannah 400 meters behind our property. There is more than enough space, and the savannah stretches far and grows larger each year as the heat from the beach pushes further into the rainforest.
This is what happens with reckless farming and tree cutting—nothing can grow there anymore unless it is systematically cultivated again by humans.
We plan to cultivate our own expanded rainforest behind our paradise over the coming years.
Turtle farm 10 minutes away
A beautiful small turtle farm is only 10 minutes from our area, where turtles are bred to maintain the population in the river. There is an annual release event that can be experienced.
