Bathe in freshwater at 26–30°C day and night, all year round

The freshwater in the Rio Arapiuns river is always pure freshwater. The river is among the main arteries of the Amazon and what we call

the Amazon’s heart and kidneys.

Near your cabin, after just a 20-minute walk, you gain access to our shared Lago Azul, “the blue lagoon,” a

freshwater lake 1–2 km in diameter formed by an underground spring above the lake that gushes up from the ground. You can see this in our teaser video at Amazontimeshare.com.

You will not find cleaner or more mineral-rich water on the planet than this, and the lake is perfect for fishing and swimming, with water temperatures of 25–27°C.

In fact, you can experience slightly cooler water at 22–25°C in the river from Lago Azul, where crystal-clear spring water flows into the Rio Arapiuns river just a 10-minute walk from our area. There you can lie back and relax while watching fish swim past you. If you want to catch a fish, this is an exciting area because fish swim both up and down the river.

At its lowest water level in December, the river flows gently and comfortably, becoming stronger, more powerful, and wider in June/July after the rainy season, when the water level is at its highest.

There are no tides in the Amazon. What you think is the ocean is actually rivers several hundred meters to several kilometers wide. In fact, the rivers are so wide in certain places that you can barely see the other side.

You will be amazed at how enormous the volume of water in the Amazon is and how incredibly clean it is.

We must not forget how healing water is for our bodies, and if you wish to hold a water blessing ceremony, the best place is Lago Azul—one of the lakes formed by freshwater gushing up from the ground in the Amazon, creating the lake that then overflows and gives life to the Rio Arapiuns river, which flows down to the Amazon’s murky main river and further out to the ocean. We are just steps away from where the heart of the Amazon beats strongest.
